Hazel Virginia Lineberry Patton age 98 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023 in Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows in Laurel Fork, Virginia.

Mrs. Patton was born in Carroll County, Virginia on June 2, 1925, to Barney Lawrence and Lillie Frances Lineberry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of the children James Lineberry and her second husband William John Patton; four children Barbara Lineberry; Ruby Lineberry; Gray Lineberry and Ray Lineberry; grandson Conley Lineberry; three sisters Verna Fowler; Georgia Lee Bryant and Berthal Primm; three brothers B.L. Lineberry; Rhudy Lineberry and Willard Robinson.

She is survived by her children and their spouses C.J. Lineberry of Ashford, Washington; Reva and Charles Bowman; Joyce and  Donald Harmon all of Austinville, Virginia;  Wade Lineberry of Galax, Virginia; Myrtle Wood and Chuck Chappell of Ivanhoe, Virginia; Gay Nell and Markel Cochran of Hillsville, Virginia;  sisters and brothers-in-law Betty Farmer; Barbara Caldwell both of Galax, Virginia; Thelma and Sam Holder; Linda and Bill Hicks all of Low Gap, North Carolina; Wilbur Don Robinson of Woodlawn, Virginia; special sister-in-law Ilene Lineberry of Woodlawn, Virginia; daughters-in-law Patricia Lineberry; Nancy Lineberry Black and Patsy Lineberry; step-daughters Bonnie Patton of Delaware; Janice Thurrell of Hockessin, Delaware; twenty-eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Zion Church with Elder Melvin McGrady and the Rev. Ray Bolen officiating. Burial to follow in the Walden Lineberry Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Mt. Zion Church.
