Hazel Marzetta McKenzie age 79 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday December 27, 2022 at her home.

Mrs. McKenzie was born in Max Meadows, Virginia on July 12, 1943 to Dexter Ray and Lesta Graham Melton. She was preceded in death by her parents Dexter Ray Melton and Lesta Graham Bennett.

She is survived by her husband Garnett S. McKenzie of Galax, Virginia; daughters and sons-in-law Pippa and Harry Smith of Waverly, West Virginia; Andrea and Gary Ramey of Winchester, Virginia; Amanda and Brad Prosser of Radcliff, Kentucky; brother and sister-in-law Tuck and Ruth Melton of Ashtabula, Ohio; sisters-in-law Agnes McKenzie and Virginia McKenzie of Galax, Virginia; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the McKenzie Cemetery with the Rev. James Cowley officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
