Hazel Bartlett Lowe age 95 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Trinity Mission in Hillsville, Virginia.

Mrs. Lowe was born on September 25, 1920 in Grayson County, Virginia to William Ren and Myrtle Bartlett. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Howard Lowe; three sisters Wallene Fields, Irene Boyer and Rose Osborne; one brother Coy Diamond and one daughter-in-law Patricia Robinson Lowe.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Ron Wortman of Culpepper, Virginia; two sons and one daughter-in-law Michael Lowe of Alachua, Florida; Gary and Sharlyn Lowe of Woodlawn, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Scott Lowe, Shannon and Lisa Lowe, Crescent Lowe Johnson, Stephanie Lowe, Ryan and Lauren Wortman, Renee and Chuck Clatterbuck; great-grandchildren Jessica Lowe, Tanner Lowe, Nicholas L. Johnson, Kristina Wortman, Hunter Wortman, Dylan Wortman, Raelyn Lowe, Kylene Lowe and Brody Clatterbuck; step-great-grandchildren and spouse Christopher Johnson; Candace and Tommy Knight; sisters and brother-in-law Ima Lee Hanlin of Bakersfield, California; JoElla and Bill Edwards of Galax, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Bill and Nell Bartlett of Galax, Virginia; Jerry and Sheila Bartlett of Salem Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Sam Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to either the Alzheimer's Association, 3959 Electric Road Roanoke, Virginia or to the First Baptist Church, 1024 East Stuart Drive, Galax, Virginia 24333.
