Hazel Boyer Hackler, age 101 of Winston Salem, North Carolina passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Springwood Care Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
Mrs. Hackler was born on October 18, 1913 in Baywood (Grayson County) Virginia to Don M. and Violet Hampton Boyer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Lee Hackler; daughter Opal Lee Hackler Starling; sisters Ruby Smith and Emma Galyean; brothers James Boyer and Crilly Ray Boyer.
She is survived by her grandchildren and spouses George Wesley & Sieglenda Starling of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; Andrew Roberson & Lori Starling of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; great-grandchildren Kristen Williams; William Starling and Benton Starling; great-great-grandchild Brayden Starling; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday April 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Felts Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
