Hazel Dean Edwards Nixon age 92 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025 in the Senior Home Shares.

Mrs. Nixon was born on March 27, 1933 in Carroll County, Virginia to Early and Marie Hanks Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Nixon, sister and brother-in-law Sue and Y.B. Hall; and sisters-in-law Joella Edwards and Lelia Edwards.

She is survived by two brothers Frank Edwards and Bill Edwards both of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Jeremy Morton officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
