Hazel Louise Hale Compton age 90 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, November 29, 2013 at her home.
Mrs. Compton was born in Elkhorn, West Virginia on March 4, 1923 to Garnett Wynn and Lila Hounshell Hale.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Kyleene and Larry Hill of Charlotte, North Carolina, Barbara Dillman of Galax, Virginia, Cindy and John Vavro of Cary, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law Danny and Nancy Compton of Mouth of Wilson, Virginia; grandchildren Jenifer Dillman Funk and husband Chadlee Graham Funk, Johnathan Kyle Dillman, Jody Hill, Kaitlyn Compton and Kassidy Compton; great-grandchildren Anastasia Funk and Abigail Funk; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, December 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Barry Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Galax Gideon Camp, P.O. Box 614, Galax, Virginia 24333.
