Hattie Irene Goodson Winesett age 97 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, January 15 2026  in the Hillsville Health and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Winesett was born on May 3, 1928 in Galax, Virginia to Morgan Thomas and Minnie Galyean Goodson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Billy Winesett; granddaughter Heather Trimble and brother Ivan Goodson.

She was a member of Snow Hill Baptist Church in Fairview, Virginia. She worked over 30 years at First National Bank of Galax which was later called Wachovia.

She is survived by daughters and spouses Susie Winesett (Ronald Harrison) of Galax, Virginia; Sherry Shuford (Scott) of Hickory, North Carolina; Sally Trimble (Buster) of Fries, Virginia; son and spouse Brad Winesett (Martha) of Radford, Virginia; sisters Inez Hawks; Imogene Norman, Iona Adams and Ina Delp all of Galax, Virginia; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Iva Moser, Betty Frost (CE);  brother-in-law Roger Winesett all of Galax, Virginia; four grandchildren Daniel Trimble of Fries, Virginia; Jake Winesett (Emily) of Midlothian, Virginia; Evan Winesett of Richmond, Virginia; Jessica Miller of Hickory, North Carolina; three great-grandchildren Lane and Lucas Trimble; Ella Whitmire;  several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Snow Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Snow Hill Baptist Church.
