Harvey Jackson "H.J." Redd age 81 of Fries, Virginia passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 at his home.

Mr. Redd was born in Galax, Virginia on January 15, 1938 to Dilver Lynn and Laura Kenny Redd. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Elizabeth Brown Redd; daughter Anita Sue Russell and special friend Dr. Vaughan Arey.

He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Elizabeth and Dedrick Phillips; Cathy and  Virgil Dixon all of Fries, Virginia;  son and daughter-in-law Gary and Pat Hampton of Fries, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Billy and Ruth Redd; Roger and Gladys Redd all of Fries, Virginia; David Redd of  Galax, Virginia;  nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 6:00 PM in the Hillsville Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Stacy Redd officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Hillsville Church of God of Prophecy.
