Harry Dean Hale, 86, of Galax, Virginia died peacefully at home on Monday, February 29, 2016.
He was born July 16, 1929 in Galax, Virginia, the son of Eli and Sallie Hale.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ila Patton, Flora Ayers and
Belva Shaw, as well as three brothers, Boyd Hale, Gene Hale and Billy Frank Hale.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Leota Gaye Hale, and his two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Rebecca Hale of Christiansburg, Virginia, and Rodney and Ramona Hale, of Elk Creek, Virginia, his four granddaughters and their spouses, Tabatha and Chris Quesenberry of Salem, Virginia; Kristen and Gregory Lewis of Charlotte, North Carolina;
Miranda and Richard White of Independence, Virginia; and Erica and Brandon Haney of
Stafford, Virginia, and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his three brothers,
Herman Hale, Elmer Hale and his spouse, Aileene; Charlie Hale and his spouse, Norma, and a
sister-in-law, Elsie Hale.
A special thanks to the family members and friends who so graciously helped with his care,
food, visits, phone calls, and rides to the many doctors' appointments he required, as well as the
Twin County Hospice Care the last few days of his life.
A celebration of his life will be held at The Galax Moose Lodge on Saturday, March 5, 2016. Visitation from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 o'clock PM. Fellowship
following service. Friends and family are encouraged to bring their favorite story or memory to share.
