Harris Eugene Shupe, age 86, of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday February 2, 2026, in Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Harris was born on May 23, 1939, in Grayson County, Virginia to Clarence and Jewel Williams Shupe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Akers Shupe, and sisters Peggy Shupe and Patsy Swain.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Darlene and James Aldred of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Randy and Jennifer Shupe of Fries, Virginia; grandchildren Shiann Coleman and fiancé Aaron Royster of Virginia Beach, Virginia, AJ Shupe of Fries, Virginia, and Brody Aldred of Galax, Virginia. Also surviving are siblings Betty Quillen of Galax, Virginia, Ned Shupe, and Jerry Shupe, both of Fries, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Pat Davis of Baywood, VA and George Swain of Galax, Virginia.

It was Harris' wish to invite all friends and family to attend the graveside service which will be held Tuesday February 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Liberty Hill Cemetery with Steve Burris officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Pall bearers for the service will be AJ Shupe, Brody Aldred, Aaron Royster, Robert Quillen, Michael Shupe, Barry Shupe, Randy Shinault, and George Swain.

Harris' life was one of quiet strength, love for family and farming, and deep care for his children and grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work and determination, and devotion to his family.
