Harrell Cox Whittington "Jody", age 72, of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday December 23, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Whittington was born in Woodlawn, Virginia on September 12, 1946 to Burton and Bertie Whittington. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Darrell, Wayne, and Peggy Whittington.

He is survived by his wife Connie Crowder Whittington of Galax, Virginia; daughters and sons-in-laws Christy and Jamie Brown of Woodlawn, Virginia, Melissa and Dwain Burnette of Galax, Virginia, and Dana Rae and Peter Ortell of Chesapeake, Virginia; grandchildren Brianna, Austin, Madison, Bailey, Taylor Jo, Autum, Peter James, Ashleigh, Landon, David; and great-grandchild Emery. Also surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law Maxine Jones of Fancy Gap, Virginia and Geraldine and David Pack of Woodlawn, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Burton and Anita Whittington of Kernersville, North Carolina and Linda Martin; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday December 27, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Rev. Jeff Pickett and Rev. Dave Anders officiating. Burial will follow at Felts Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
