Harold Bayne Tompkins' Obituary
Harold Bayne Tompkins age 76 of Galax, Va. passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Avante' at Roanoke.
Mr. Tompkins was born in Alleghany County, N.C. on November 16, 1932 to John Morgan & Eunice Arlene Galyean Tompkins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an an infant daughter Bonnie Jane Tompkins; sister Anna Tompkins and brother Herbert Tompkins.
He is survived by his sons Jeffery Tompkins of Galax, Va; Kim Tompkins & Randy Tompkins both of Mt. Airy, N.C.; sisters Reva Williams; Rosa Newman and Lillie Mae Woodel all of Galax, Va.; brothers & sisters-in-law Donald & Lora Jean Tompkins; Wayne & Barbara Tompkins all of Galax,Va.; several nieces & nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 11:00 am in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Ted Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Crab Creek Cemetery with Military Rites by Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
