Harold Nelson Melton age 91 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mr. Melton was born in Carroll County, Virginia on January 24, 1929 to Stephen Everett and Lavada Ada Hanks. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Alma Melton and Maxine Green; four brothers Swanson Melton; Berlin Melton; Rawden Melton and Clinton Melton.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by his nieces and their spouses Berlene Sawyer; Marie and Jimmy Morrison; Percela Green Edwards and Marcus; one nephew J.W. Melton all of Galax, Virginia; several great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous cousins.

A graveside service will be held in the Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Morris officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726.
