Harold "Rat" Glenn Smith age 84 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mr. Smith was born in Carroll County, Virginia on September 11, 1931 to Richard Monroe and Ethel Blanch Edwards Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Edna Isom Smith; daughter Stacey Smith; sisters Una Lee Gravely and Pauline Painter.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Polly and Larry Phipps of Galax, Virginia; Diana and Richard Hutchens of Woodlawn, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Linda Smith of Woodlawn, Virginia; sister Nina Jones of Woodlawn, Virginia; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 19, 2016 at 4:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
