Harold William Funk, age 79, of Fries, VA died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Funk was born Oct. 26, 1932 to Marzell and Emma Patton Funk in Grayson County, VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Sena Funk.

He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Sheila and Doug Osborne of Galax, VA; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian & Alice Funk of Abingdon, VA.; Dean & Susie Funk of Fries, VA,; sister Edith Bennett of Fries, VA; brother & sister-in-law M.J. and Berline Funk of Galax, VA; grandchildren and spouses, Joshua and Stacey Funk, Benjamin Funk, Kris & Mandi Funk, Justin Funk, Kelsey Funk, Landon Osborne and Sydney Evelyn Osborne; great-grandchildren Kendall and Kyleigh Funk; special friend Nancy Elswick.

Funeral service will be held at Liberty Hill United Methodist Church Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at 4:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery. The officiating ministers will be the Rev. Tim Smith and Rev. Randy Morris. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM util 4:00 PM on Tuesday at the church. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville VFW post # 1115.Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to the Fries Volunteer Fire Department.
