Harmon Ernest Rippey age 70 of Galax, Va. passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008 at his home. Mr. Rippey was born in Carroll County, Va. on October 16,1937 to Dallas & Beulah Jones Rippey. He is survived by his wife Lois G. Rippey of Galax, Va.; daughters & son-in-law Abby Gail Vaughn of Fancy Gap, Va.; Julia & Jeffery Bowers of Galax, Va.; Fonda Lansford of King, N.C.; son & daughter-in-law Benjie & Jackie Rippey of Galax, Va.; sisters & brother-in-law Geneva & Coy Hawks of Mt.Airy, N.C.; Mary Ann Fitzgerald of Burlington, N.C.; brothers & sisters-in-law Clifford & Helen Rippey of Galax, Va.; Gilmer Rippey of Cana, Va.; Randy & Becky Rippey of Fancy Gap, Va.; Curtis & Trisha Rippey of Burlington, N.C.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 4:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Randy Rippey & Robert Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
