Griggs William Oliver Dixon age 76 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Friday, May 26, 2023 in the Waddle Nursing and Rehab Center.

Griggs was born on May 27, 1946 in Grayson County, Virginia to Charlie James and Hazel Billings Dixon.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Combs Dixon of Woodlawn, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Amy and Janson Norman of Advance, North Carolina; son and fiancee' Chad Dixon and Casey Martin of  Hillsville, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Sally Rakes of Woodlawn, Virginia; Mary Martin Leonard and Frank of Wytheville, Virginia; Nancy Salcido of Galax, Virginia; brother Charles Dixon of Knoxville, Tennessee; five grandchildren Chase Dixon; Natalie Vega; Savannah Norman; Nate Norman and Alex Norman; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terri Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.
