Grace Elaine Higgins age 88 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at her home.

Mrs. Higgins was born in Ivanhoe, Virginia on January 25, 1936 to Luther Doc and Gracie Jones Woodel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Earl Higgins and son Marvin Dennis Higgins.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-laws Teresa and Clyde Combs; Mary and Jimmy Harmon; Lisa and Tom Singleton; Arlene and Steve Wilmouth; Lorrie and William Sexton; son and daughter-in-law William Earl and Brenda Higgins; daughter and son-in-law adopted in heart Trena and Mike Hammer; daughter-in-law in heart Elizabeth Melton; nine grandchildren Amy Jensen; David Singleton; Jason Higgins; Andrew Singleton; Robert Higgins; Eric Ryan; Samantha Taylor; Katie Newberry; Keith Sexton; ; twelve great-grandchildren Ian Jensen; Kaylee Singleton; Taylor Jones; Rylie Singleton; Kayden Higgins; Kinsley Singleton; Gavin Higgins; Jacqueline Ryan; Harper Higgins; Lexi Newberry; Carly McMillian; Kassie McMillian.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the Bishop's Chapel Church with the Rev. Jimmy Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at Bishop's Chapel Church.
