Grace Burris Atkins age 92 of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania passed away Saturday, June 7, 2009.
Mrs. Atkins was born in Fallville, Virginia on April 28, 1917 to Johnson W. & Lena T. Byrd Burris. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death her husband Samuel D. Atkins; daughter Evelyn Pellegrin; sister & brothers who were raised in the Fallville area Viola Burris Jackson; Garland Vaughan; Willie Vaughan; Bayse Burris; Roscoe Burris; Clifton Burris and Howard Byrd.
She is survived by her daughters & son-in-law Martha Sue & Robert Trace of Norristown, Pa.; Patsy Atkins Martin of Christiansburg, Va.; son David B. Atkins of Audubon, Pa.; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Jerusalem United Methodist Church with Rev. Vicki Neese officiating. The body will lie in state one hour before the service where the family will receive friends. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jerusalem United Methodist Church Cemetery.
