Goldie Smythers Harmon, 98, of Austinville, Virginia passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the Hillsville Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Harmon was born November 30, 1919 in Carroll County Virginia to the late Michael S. and Cora Melton Smythers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clell Harmon and son Roger Harmon.

Mrs. Harmon is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Cora Mae and Elder Edward Bowman of Woodlawn; daughter-in-law Barbara Harmon of Austinville; grandchildren and spouses Mark and Chandra Harmon; Michael and Trish Harmon; Krista and Steve Burnette; five great grandchildren; sister Maggie Sharpe of Roanoke, Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Elder Ronald Bowman, Elder Tim McGrady and Elder Edward Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until time for the service.
