Goldie Miller Byrd's Obituary
Goldie Miller Byrd age 89 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.
Mrs. Byrd was born in the Whitetop Community of Grayson County, Virginia on March 10, 1928 to James and Dora Shepheard Miller. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earnest Byrd; daughters Brenda Davis and Donna Graham; son Charles Byrd; great-granddaughter Milly Rector.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Nellie and Jack Davis; Ellen and Alan Brannock; son Jerry Byrd all of Galax, Virginia; brother Carrol Miller of Jefferson, North Carolina; twelve grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, June 9, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Elder Pete Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the Galyean Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
