Goldie Minniebelle Blevins, 87, of Galax and formerly of Fries, passed away Friday, Dec 29, 2006 at Twin County Regional Hospital. She was born in Carroll County, VA on June 16, 1919 to Henry Anderson Linville, Sr. & Ella Mae Mooney Linville. She is the widow of Marcus Everett Blevins, Sr.

Mrs. Blevins is survived by her children: Marchus Everett Blevins, Jr. & wife Darlene Frances of Fries; Joyce Dalton of Lambsburg, VA; and Brenda Smith of Galax, VA.
One Brother and sister-in-law: Hobert & Edith Linville of Fries; four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Marie & Jason Newman of Galax;
Sadie & Elwood Funk of Galax; Virginia Brown of Wytheville; Fannie & Glen Lowe of Wytheville; a half sister Nancy Hall and half brother Henry Linville, Jr. both of North Carolina. Eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marcus Everett Blevins, Sr and a son Lewis Andrew Blevins.

The family will receive friends Sunday December 30 at Vaughan-Guynn from 7 until 9 o'clock. The funeral service will be held Monday, January 1, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Tony Vaughan and Rev. Woynal Smythers officiating. Burial will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery.
