Golda Hanks Farmer's Obituary
Golda Hanks Farmer age 69 of Independence, Virginia passed away Monday, February 21, 2011 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.
Golda was born in Carroll County, Virginia on November 20, 1941 to William McKinnley and Louise Alice Bond Hanks. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Odell Farmer.
She is survived by her daughters Barbara Suzette Dillard of Savannah, Georgia; Priscilla Evelyn Farmer of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; sons Charles Odell Farmer of Lexington, North Carolina; Ricky Joe Farmer of Thomasville, North Carolina; sister Mary Hanks of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; brothers James Hanks of Thomasville, North Carolina; Thomas Hanks of Yakinville, North Carolina; three grandchildren; one step granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, February 25, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Charles Smythers officiating. Burial will follow in the Smythers Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
