Glenna Gail Blankenship Stamper age 67 of Galax, Va. passed away Monday, March 24, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. Glenna was born in Piedmont, West Virginia on October 9, 1940 to Raymond & Pauline Clark Phillips. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Scott Stamper, sister Brenda Young, brother Curt Phillips and granddaughter Amanda Blankenship. She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law Glenna & David Payne; Lisa & Timmy King; Linda Lambert & David Lineberry all of Galax, Va.; Sharon & Robert Wood of Lashmeet, West Virginia; sons & daughter-in-law Basil Blankenship of Galax, Va.; Ronald Phillips of Johnson City, Tennessee; William & Stephanie Blankenship of Dugspur, Va.; sisters Lou Wert of Princeton, West Va.; Ann Burnette of Lake Bottom, West Va.; Darla Reed of Missouri; brothers Joe Phillips of Narrows, West Va.; Jimmy Phillips of Princeton, West Va; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm at Great Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Camet Spivey officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior the funeral service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
