Glenn Graybill
Wilson, Jr.
December 8, 1962 – November 6, 2025
*COURTESY ANNOUNCEMENT ON BEHALF OF WILSON FAMILY*
Glenn Graybill Wilson, Jr., age 62, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Francis Marion Manor in Marion, VA.
Glenn was born on December 8, 1962, in Galax, VA to Glenn Graybill Wilson Sr. and Loretta Sue Musser Wilson. He was a graduate of Galax High School in 1981, Emory & Henry College in 1986, and George Mason University in 2003. He took great pride in his 28-year career with the Virginia Department of Transportation which began at the Greendale Area Headquarters, where he spent many long days and late nights dedicated to snow removal and road maintenance. He also served as the Superintendent of the Volney Area Headquarters and retired as an Environmental Specialist. One of Glenn's most remembered quotes is "the worst day in Grayson County is better than the best day anywhere else."
Glenn's greatest joy was his family. He is remembered for his humor, love, and gentle spirit. Despite the daily challenges of Parkinson's disease, he remained committed to advancing treatments for future Parkinson's patients. He deeply valued his collaboration with Dr. Julia Casselbury and the Physical Therapy students at Emory & Henry. Together with Dr. Casselbury, Glenn helped establish a support group in Smyth County for Parkinson's patients and their caregivers. He was actively involved at First United Methodist Church in Marion, VA, where he could often be found serving with the audio-visual team, singing in the choir, and serving on the Board of Trustees.
He is survived by the love of his life of 38 years, Jacqueline (Jackie) Annette Sheets; brother and sister-in-law, William and Crystal Wilson; son and daughter-in-law Glenn Graybill Wilson III (Gray) & Moriah Wilson; daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Chris Radford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend gratitude to Glenn's favorite therapist, Lindsey King, special caregiver Danielle Proffit, the staff of Francis Marion Manor, and the staff of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, and many others for their exceptional care.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM, Saturday, November 15, 2025, from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Pastor Wes Eller and Rev. James Bennington officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Glenn to The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley's Funeral Home of Marion is serving the Wilson family.
