Glenn Phipps Ward's Obituary
Glenn Phipps Ward age 70 of Independence, Virginia passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 in the Waddell Nursing Home.
Mr. Ward was born in Grayson County, Virginia on October 14, 1940 to Tom and Izora Freeman Ward. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Sarah Mae Ward.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Ward of Independence, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law Thomas Edward and Brenda Ward; Glenn Stacy Ward and Joseph Andrew Ward all of Independence, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Ruby and Jackie Long of Flat Ridge, Virginia; Nellie May Young of King, North Carolina; Anna Leigh Sexton of West Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law J.E. and Shirley Ward of Galax, Virginia; Daniel and Judy Ward of Independence, Virginia; step-grandchildren Amanda Testerman; Jennifer Testerman and Whitney Testerman; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery with Rev. Dale Ward and Rev. Doug Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9:00 until 10:30 at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
