Glenn Junior Barber age 59 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday morning in the New River Valley Medical Center.

Glenn was born in Grayson County, Virginia on June 9, 1961 to Ray Glenn and Hazel Carrico Barber.

He is survived by his wife Barbara A. Barber of Galax, Virginia; step-children and spouses Gary Shelar, Jr. of Hillsville, Virginia; Rebecca and Billy Joe Grimes of Galax, Virginia; Cindy Ophilia Shelar of Fries, Virginia; Donald Ray and Tammy Shelar of Woodlawn, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Shelby and Jimmy Lineberry; Sandra Tate all of Fries, Virginia;  Loretta Lyons of Salisbury, North Carolina; brother Harold Dean Barber of Fries, Virginia; nine step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friend Eddy Shepherd.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Threadway and Wilma Carroccio officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Fries, Virginia. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Mask and social distancing will be required for the funeral service and burial.
