Glenda Dawn Patton known as Dawn Patton age 89 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Patton was born in Fries, Virginia on November 7, 1936 to Garnett and Shirley Pierce Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry Lee (Red) Patton.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Denise and Wayne Jessup of Galax, Virginia; grandson and wife Kenny and Dolores Jessup of Wytheville, Virginia; one great-grandson Lucas Jessup; sister Jane Blackburn of Blountville, Tennessee; special niece and nephew Leslie Carr; Garth Blackburn; great-niece and great-nephew Annie Carr and Will Carr.

To honor my mother's wish there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to the Fries United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 187, Fries, Virginia 24330.
