Gladys May Hathaway Reed age 69 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at her home.

Mrs. Reed was born in Glens Falls, New York on July 15, 1954 to Kenneth and Joan Whipple Hathaway. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sibling.

She is survived by her husband Alfred Gregory Reed of Galax, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Jo Reed Jackson and Richard of New York; son and daughter-in-law Dale Reed & Rhonda Cox Reed of Galax, Virginia; four grandchildren Skylar Reed; Maddox Jackson; Crew Jackson and Asher Jackson; several living siblings; special church family at Christ Chapel.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 20th at 2:00 PM at Christ Chapel Church. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at Christ Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research  Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
