Gladese Odell Kirby, age 79, of Galax, Virginia passed Saturday January 22, 2022 in Woltz Hospice House in Dobson, North Carolina.

Gladese was born December 8, 1942 in Grayson County, Virginia to Clarence and Ada Kirby Snow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dillard Lee Kirby and daughter Patricia Ridpath.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law Loretta Merilic and fiancé Rodney Joyner of Walkertown, North Carolina, Robin and Kenneth Jones of Galax, Virginia, Regina Kirby; sons and daughters-in-law Bill and Tamara Kirby of Fries, Virginia, Vincent and Kyleane Kirby of Fries, Virginia, thirteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sister and brother-in-law Connie and JB Frazier of Laurel Fork, Virginia, brothers Gene Snow of North Carolina and Leland Snow of Hillsville, Virginia; and special friend Bobby Johnson of Fries, Virginia.

The funeral service will be held Friday January 28, 2022 at 2PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Ronnie Kirby officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1PM until time of the service in Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
