Geraldine Eastridge Rippey age 87 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday September 5, 2023 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Rippey was born in Carroll County, Virginia on May 10, 1936 to Joseph and Rina Lou Edwards Eastridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters Wilma Eastridge, Hazel Eastridge, Dorothy Mullinix and Lema Chappell; two brothers Gleason Eastridge and Ingram Eastridge.

She is survived by her husband Charlie Rippey; sons and daughters-in-law Gale and Gena Rippey; Myron and Julie Rippey all of Galax, Virginia; sisters Shirley Patton and Wanda Hash; brothers Clyde Eastridge and Wade Eastridge; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Bill Ring and Pastor David Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at the Twin County Regional Hospital and the Waddell Nursing and Rahab Center for the love and care they gave to Mrs. Rippey during her illness.
