George Monroe Tucker age 64 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday February 7, 2021 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

George was born on December 16, 1956 in Galax, Virginia to James Monroe and Edna Reeves Tucker.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Brenda Tucker Hughes and brother Charles Tucker.

He is survived by his daughter Tessa Shay Cox; sisters Hilda Jo Tucker and Regina Tucker all of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law James V. and Nancy Tucker of Sparta, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Zion Holiness Church with Pastor Ira Jacobs and Minister Dionne Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the Oldtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Mt. Zion Holiness Church.

Mask and social distancing will be required for the funeral service and burial.
