George Wade Stuart, age 79, Ivanhoe, VA, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 at the Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax, VA.
Mr. Stuart was born April 3, 1937 in Wythe County, VA to George & Edith Jonas Stuart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Stuart.
He is survived by sons & daughter-in-law, Jimmy Stuart, Fries, VA, Rickey & Nancy Stuart, Ivanhoe, VA; sisters & brothers-in-law, Patsy Huffman, Greensboro, NC, Sue & Benton Vaughn, Morehead City, NC, Penny & David Allen, Galax, VA; brothers & sisters-in-law, Otis & Ruby Stuart, Galax, VA, Darrell & Debbie Stuart, Charlotte, NC; two granddaughters and one grandson, one great-grandson, three step-great-granddaughters; several nieces & nephews.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016 in the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from one until two PM, Tuesday, prior to the funeral service, at the church. Officiating will be the Rev. Bobbie Dunford and the Rev. Steve Alderman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cold Springs United Methodist Church.
