George Edward Mckenzie's Obituary
George Edward McKenzie better known as Edward McKenzie age 77 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at his home.
Mr. McKenzie was born on August 20, 1936 in Galax, Virginia to George William and Mary Ann Bobbitt McKenzie.
He is survived by his wife Alma Brannock McKenzie of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Keith and Scarlett McKenzie of Fancy Gap, Virginia; Martin and Tracy McKenzie of Hillsville, Virginia; granddaughters Erika McKenzie and Elena McKenzie; sisters Mary Ellen Brooks of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; Joyce Caudill of Fancy Gap, Virginia; Loyce McMillian of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; Nancy Hawks of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the McKenzie Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Morris and the Rev. Lee Houston officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to either the American Cancer Society, 250 Williams Street, NW Atlanta, Georgia 30303-1002 or to the Twin County Hospice, P.O. Box 106 Galax, Virginia 24333.
