George Barry Lawson age 72 of Fries, Virginia passed away Tuesday January 4, 2022 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Barry was born in Wythe County, Virginia on April 6, 1949 to Jewel Gale and Annie Louise Jackson Lawson.

He is survived by his wife Mary Lawson of Fries, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Ronnie Bowers of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Chad and Kelly Lawson of Max Meadows, Virginia; sister Sharon Lawson of Woodlawn, Virginia; brother Gale Lawson of Virginia Beach, Virginia; six grandchildren Bryce Lawson; Kynsley Lawson; Kayley Melton; Karlie Montgomery; Allie Bowers and Carlie Bowers; great -grandchild Alice Melton; several nieces and nephews; special friend Charles Roop.

A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Jackson Family Cemetery in Ivanhoe, Virginia with Pastor BoBo Gravley officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home; however friends may come anytime at the home of Chad and Kelly Lawson, 492 Sheffey School, Max Meadows, Virginia 24360..
