Geneva Margaret Horton, age 81, of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday July 6, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Geneva was born on August 18, 1943 in Galax, Virginia to the late James Roger and Faye Higgins Carico. She was also preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Clifford Horton; sisters Debra Carico, Linda Sumner, and Mary Carrico; and brothers Dennis Carico, Ronnie Carico, and Thomas Carico.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Billy Wall of Clarksville, Tennessee; sons and daughters-in-law Bobby and Pam Horton of Galax, Virginia, Tony and Carla Horton of Hillsville, Virginia; sister and brother-in law Brenda and Larry Carpenter of Galax, Virginia; brothers and sister-in-law Kenneth and Debbie Carico of Galax, Virginia, Roger Carico of Galax, Virginia; sisters-in-law Janie Carico, Audrey Carico, and Nancy Carico; grandchildren Colton Buckner and Mandy, Austin and Katlyn Horton, Amanda and Ben Clark, Ryan Wall; great grandchildren Sutton Kate Horton, and Denton Scott Horton. As well as several nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be held Saturday July 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Blue Ridge Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Wayne Marion and Pastor Michael Senter officiating. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Friday July 11, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
