Geneva Elizabeth Boyer age 85 of Blacksburg, Virginia and formerly of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in The Kroontje Health Care Center.

Mrs. Boyer was born in Floyd County, Virginia on May 24, 1930 to Ira Damon and Clydia Cox Lester. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Walter Boyer and sister Gloria L. Hornbarger .

She is survived by a brother-in-law and his wife Don and Bobby Hornbarger of Christiansburg, Virginia; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Barbara Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to either the West Galax United Methodist Church or to the Edgemont Christian Church in Christiansburg, Virginia. The family also request no food please.
