Gene "Red" Harvey Archer

Gene “Red” Harvey Archer age 77 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Monday June 15, 2026 in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital.

Gene was born in Grayson County, Virginia on November 11, 1948 to William Lestle and Mary Bell Taylor Archer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings George William Archer; Bill Archer; Carlton “Duke” Archer; Robert Archer; Mildred Archer Hoffman; Patsy Archer Bourne and Edna Archer Pearman.

He is survived by his wife Maria Archer of Woodlawn, Virginia; brother Thomas Ray Archer of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; his companions Lady and Jackson.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday June 27th at 11:00 AM in the Cold Springs Church with Pastor Marty Stallard and Pastor Tony Vaughan officiating.
