Gaylene Anderson Combs age 92 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday August 10, 2022 at her home.

Mrs. Combs was born in Russell County, Virginia on August 19, 1930 to Henry and Bessie Hubbard Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Combs; great-granddaughter Reagan McDaniel; step-grandson Deven Butterworth; sisters Mable Martin; Margie Stephens; Juanita Childress and a brother Archie Farmer.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law Judy and Dan Chamberlain of Mulberry, Tennessee; Brenda and Graham Mitchell of Floyd, Virginia; Vickie and Larry Shupe of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Roger and Jackie Combs of Galax, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Dr. Graham Mitchell and Dr. Ronny Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon, Virginia at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:30 AM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
