Gary Edward McKinney age 58 of Ivanhoe, Virginia passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 in Galax, Virginia.

Gary was born in Fries, Virginia on December 31, 1963 to Joe Lee and Ellen Dunford McKinney.

He is survived by his son Gary McKinney, Jr. of Ivanhoe, Virginia and his mother Linda Lovern McKinney of Wytheville, Virginia; special friends Lundy and Mariska; sisters and brothers-in-law Elizabeth and Dean Apple of Burlington, North Carolina; Susan and Sammy Childress of Ivanhoe, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Joel and Susan McKinney; Jeff and Jessica McKinney all of Wytheville, Virginia; Wes and Barbara McKinney of Ivanhoe, Virginia; William and Judy McKinney of Piney; Tommy and Julie McKinney of Hillsville, Virginia; nieces and nephews Sherman, Anthony and James McKinney; Jessica, Bruce, William and Amber Berkeley; Desirae McKinney, Dakota and Zach Childress; Levi  McKinney; Jessica and Cameron Collins; E.J. Cregger; Adam and Jeff Johnson; Cheyenne and Allie McKinney.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Matt Linkous officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the memorial service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
