Garnie Walker Burcham, 89, of Galax passed away at the Golden Living Center- Beverly Blue Ridge in Galax. Mr. Burcham was born May 7, 1918 to Fred Burcham and Elizabeth Easter Burcham in Carroll County, VA.

Mr. Burcham is survived by his wife Allene Burcham of the home, five daughters & sons-in-law: Jamie & Scott Hash, Peggy & Earnest Calfee Patsy & Bobby Phipps, Arlowene & Mitchell Alderman, Teresa & Hardy Sizemore all of Galax; one son & daughter-in-law: Garnie Burcham, Jr. & Sue Patton also of Galax. Nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Sunday August 12, 2007. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 13, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the Oakland United Methodist Church with Rev. John Ousley and Rev. Richard Gregory officiating.

Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by Hillsville VFW Post #1115.
