Garnett Lewis Delp age 80 of Galax, Va. passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008 in Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Delp was born in Galax, Va. on June 22, 1927 to Garnett A. & Edith Patton Delp. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Dennis Lewis Delp. He is survived by his wife Winnie Delp; son & daughter-in-law Jonathan & Vanetta Delp all of Galax, Va.; sister & brother-in-law Opal & Earl Lyon of Hillsville, Va.; brother & sister-in-law J. Carl & Judy Delp of Galax, Va.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Cas Horton; Rev. Ted Bartlett and Rev. Rodney Christman officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from seven until nine at the First Assembly of God Church.
