Freeman M. Vaughan age 91 of Galax, Va. passed away Sunday December 24, 2006 in Forsyth Medical Center. He was born July 17, 1915 in Floyd County, Va. to the late Ed & Ida Finn Vaughan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Hallie Brannock Vaughan. He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law Brenda V. & John Moraski,II; son & daughter-in-law Maurice & Janice Vaughan all of Galax, Va.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Mrs. James (Vivian) Hess of Galax, Va.; and special friend Norene Horton. Several nieces & nephews also survive. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM in First Baptist Church with Rev. R.Claxton Hall and Dr. Tom Whartenby officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery with Military Rites by Grayson VFW Post 7726. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Galax Lodge #68. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Galax Foundation for Excellence in Education. P.O.
