Freeda Dickens Rector's Obituary
Freeda Dickens Rector age 88 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 in the Galax Health and Rehab Center.
Mrs. Rector was born on January 19, 1929 in Carroll County, Virginia to William and Abbie Semones Dickens. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold Andrew Rector and a son William (Billy) Rector.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Ronald Kenneth and Holly Rector; sisters and brother-in-law Georgie and Clyde Eastridge; Flora Aldred; brother and sister-in-law J.C. and Peggy Dickens; special sister-in-law Hope Rector all are of Galax, Virginia; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday March 26, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. James Cowley officiating. Burial will follow in the Camp Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Hillcrest Baptist Church.
