Fredrick (Freddie) Stamey Whitaker, 50, of Fayetteville, North Carolina and formerly of Galax passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010.
Freddie graduated from Carroll County High School in 1978. He was a decorated veteran having served eleven years in the U. S. Army.
He is survived by his mother Phyllis Whitaker of Galax, daughter Allison Claire Whitaker of Fayetteville, North Carolina and brother Benford Dale Whitaker of Perrysburg, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.
