Freddy Ray Russell age 71 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday June 14, 2022 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Freddy was born in Galax, Virginia on May 30, 1951 to James Jennings and Frances Sells Russell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Eddie Russell.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Holly and James Duhon of White House, Texas; sister and brother-in-law Mary Jane and Kenny Griffin of Galax, Virginia; sister -in-law Carolyn Russell of Woodlawn, Virginia; two  grandchildren Emerson Hurley and Memphis Russell Duhon; special nieces and nephews Donna Elliott (Bobby); Kim Roberts (Jimmy) Jimmy Russell (Jessica) and Timmy Russell.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the First Christian Church with Glen Sage officiating. Burial will follow in the Gladeville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the First Christian Church.
