Fred Stanley age 86 of Fries, Virginia passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Stanley was born in Grayson County, Virginia on March 17, 1929 to Grat and Winnie Williams Stanley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Funk Stanley.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Janet and Frederick Melton of Galax, Virginia; Linda Stanley and Ben Rambo of Roanoke, Virginia; Kathy and Tony Stuart of Fries, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Ricky and Freda Stanley of Fries, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Chad and Tracy Stanley of Fries, Virginia; Zak and Amanda Melton of Hillsville, Virginia; Cory Stuart of Galax, Virginia; Molly and Nathan Sutherland of Elk Creek, Virginia; great-grandchildren Meredith Stanley and Isabella Stanley of Fries, Virginia; Aspyn Crockett and Allie Melton of Hillsville, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 4:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Bobbie Dunford and Pam Boyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
