Fred Adams, Jr. age 81, of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina. Mr. Adams was born June 13, 1937 in Galax, Virginia to the late Fred Adams and Bettie Mae Webb Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Jane Edwards, brother John Adams Sr. and a granddaughter Sonya Renee Lineberry.

He is survived by his wife Iona Goodson Adams of the home; daughters and son-in-law: Debra Adams Lineberry of Galax, Virginia; Sylvia Adams Rudolph and Gary of Fries, Virginia; sons and daughters in law: Fred Adams III and Lisa; Mark Adams and Deana all of Galax, Virginia; step son and wife: Kevin Jones and Lorie of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law: Richard "Dick" Adams and Penny of Galax. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Brandi Amburgey; Leah Amburgey; Wayne Amburgey; Samantha Amburgey; Kayla Duncan; Fred Adams IV; Kristen Adams and Mark Adams, Jr.; five step grandchildren Kenneth Jennings ; Chrystia Motley; Destiny Jones; Deaira Jones; Dezirea Burnett and Justin; four great grandchildren Phoenix Lineberry, Rylea Amburgey; Logan Jennings and Abriella Amburgey; two step great grandchildren; Brayden Burnett and Coleson Burnett; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM in the First Baptist Church, Galax, Virginia with Pastor Sam Bartlett officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time for the service at the First Baptist Church.
