The following is a courtesy obit for the "Daneard" Cox Family:
Fred Daneard Cox, age 70 of Gibsonville, North Carolina and formerly of Galax, Va. went home to be with the Lord December 10, 2009 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Cox was born on August 6, 1939 in Galax, Va. to the late Newton Fred and Rosia Imogene Vaughan Cox. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an aunt Virgie Stamper.
He is survived by his loving wife of twelve years Karen Cook Cox of the home; daughters and sons-in-law Julie & Keith Thomas of Elon; Sara & Tim VonCannon of Winston-Salem, N.C.; brother & sister-in-law Roy Lee & Carolyn Cox of Galax, Va.; sister & brother-in-law Reggie & Carl Dean Edwards of Ennice,N.C. grandsons Sam Thomas; Will Thomas and Adam VonCannon; cousins Edwin "Ed" Stamper and Joe Poe; many nieces and nephews and his special k-9 companions "Woody" and "Cal".
Fred faithfully attended Glen Raven Baptist Church. He worked with Burlington Industries as a mechanic and supervisor and was recently employed at JR Tobacco.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 3:00 pm at Glen Raven Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Fann officiating. The family will receive friends from six until eight Saturday evening at Lowe Funeral Home 2205 Church Street Burlington, N.C. 27215 and other times at the home.
