Fred Clay Carico, Jr. age 76 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020 in the Forsyth Medical Center.

Mr. Carico was born in Roanoke, Virginia on February 17, 1944 to Fred Clay and Opal Mae Landreth Carico. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons Tom Carico and Douglas  "Cotton" Carico.

He is survived by his wife Margie Carico of Galax, Virginia; son James Chandler of Hillsville, Virginia; grandchildren and spouse Latasha and Lucus Hawks; David Chandler; Miranda Chandler; great-grandchildren Tryston, J.T.; Brett; Alyssia and Brandon; brother John Carico of Richmond, Virginia.

There will be a drive thru visitation Friday from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM in the Bible Baptist Church parking lot with a service to follow at 4:00  with the Rev. Barry Newman officiating.  In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to the Galax Animal Shelter.
